2 Days / 1 Night Day and Night Camel Ride in Merzouga

Day 1 - Full-Day Camel Adventure Through Erg Chebbi

Your Day and Night Camel Ride in Merzouga begins at around 10:00 AM from our hotel in Merzouga. After a warm welcome with traditional Moroccan mint tea, you can safely park your car and store any luggage you won’t need during the trip. Once you’re ready, you’ll meet your local camel guide and begin your journey into the beautiful Erg Chebbi Desert, riding along traditional desert trails used by local families for generations.

After about an hour of camel riding, we’ll stop for a short break to stretch our legs, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and take photographs of the endless golden dunes. From there, we’ll continue deeper into the Sahara until we reach a hidden oasis, one of the most peaceful places in Erg Chebbi. Here you’ll spend the afternoon relaxing beneath the shade of the palm trees while our team prepares a freshly cooked Moroccan picnic lunch.

After lunch, you can enjoy the desert however you wish. Relax with a book, climb the nearby dunes for panoramic views, take a peaceful walk through the sand, or join your camel guide to learn more about desert life and the traditions of the local Amazigh people. As the afternoon becomes cooler, we’ll continue our journey towards the desert camp. Along the way, and with a little luck, you may spot desert wildlife such as a sand fish, jerboa, desert hare, or the footprints of a desert fox.

Before arriving at camp, we’ll stop on one of the highest dunes to admire the spectacular Sahara sunset. After this unforgettable moment, you’ll continue to our traditional desert camp, where you’ll settle into your private tent and have time to freshen up before dinner. In the evening, enjoy a delicious homemade Moroccan meal, followed by traditional Amazigh music around the campfire. As the night becomes quiet, take a walk across the dunes to admire the Milky Way and the thousands of stars that light up the Sahara sky. We also recommend waking up early the next morning to witness the magical sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Day 2 - Sunrise and Return to Merzouga

Wake up early to enjoy one of the most beautiful sunrises in the Moroccan Sahara as the first light slowly colours the Erg Chebbi dunes. After a traditional breakfast at the camp, it’s time to return to Merzouga.

You can choose to ride your camel back across the dunes or return comfortably by 4×4 vehicle. Once back at our hotel, you’ll have access to shower facilities and can collect your luggage before continuing your journey. Your Day and Night Camel Ride in Merzouga comes to an end, leaving you with unforgettable memories of authentic desert life, breathtaking landscapes, and the warm hospitality of our local team.
