If you’re travelling by car, you can leave it safely in our private parking area, while your main luggage will be securely stored or transferred directly to your desert camp. Before your adventure begins, you’re welcome to relax by the swimming pool and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
Around one hour before sunset, you’ll meet your local camel guide and start your camel ride across the beautiful Erg Chebbi dunes. As you travel through the golden Sahara, your guide will stop at one of our favourite panoramic viewpoints, giving you time to admire the breathtaking sunset and capture unforgettable photographs.
After sunset, you’ll continue to your chosen desert camp. If you prefer extra comfort, you can stay in our Luxury Desert Camp, featuring elegant private tents, comfortable beds, and a private bathroom. If you’re looking for a more traditional experience, our Berber Desert Camp offers a warm and authentic atmosphere inspired by the way local desert families have welcomed travellers for generations.

For the best experience, we recommend waking up early the next morning to watch the unforgettable desert sunrise.

FAQs 1 night camel trekking in merzouga
How do I choose between the Luxury Desert Camp and the Traditional Berber Camp?
Both camps include the same camel trekking experience through the Erg Chebbi Desert. The difference is the accommodation. Our Luxury Desert Camp offers private bathrooms, air conditioning, and extra comfort, while our Traditional Berber Camp provides a simple and authentic Sahara experience, perfect for travelers who want to experience local desert life.
Is one night enough to experience the Sahara?
Yes. Our 1 Night Camel Trekking in Merzouga is perfect for travelers with limited time. You’ll enjoy a camel ride across the dunes, watch the sunset, spend the night in the desert, experience traditional Amazigh hospitality, and wake up to a beautiful Sahara sunrise before returning to Merzouga.
Why do local guides recommend watching both sunset and sunrise?
The desert changes completely between evening and morning. Sunset fills the dunes with warm golden colours, while sunrise brings peaceful silence and soft light. As people who grew up in Merzouga, we believe these are the two most magical moments to experience the Erg Chebbi Desert
Will I have time to enjoy the camp, or is it only for sleeping?
Absolutely. After arriving at the camp, you’ll have time to relax, enjoy dinner, listen to traditional Amazigh music around the campfire, watch the stars, and experience the peaceful atmosphere of the Sahara. The camp is an important part of the journey, not simply a place to spend the night.
Can I continue exploring the desert after my camel trek?
Of course. Many travelers stay an extra day to discover more of the Sahara. We can arrange 4×4 Merzouga Sahara Tours, Sandboarding in Erg Chebbi, Quad Biking Tours, or Buggy Driving Tours to help you experience different parts of the Erg Chebbi Desert.
Why book your camel trekking experience with Morocco Tours Plan?
We’re a local family from Merzouga, and the Sahara has been our home for generations. We don’t follow a fixed script we share our culture, our traditions, and our favourite places in the desert. Our goal is to give every traveler a genuine experience that feels personal, relaxed, and unforgettable.
